Walkable skylights for daylight rooms

With its elegant, threshold-free design, GLASSFLOOR® blends seamlessly into the architecture and surroundings. The walk-on skylight brings natural daylight into the rooms below, creating a bright, open, and sophisticated atmosphere.

The walkable glass surfaces allow for efficient use of the available space without sacrificing valuable usable areas. GLASSFLOOR® is suitable for use as a flat-roof window, terrace element, or walkable floor glazing in both private residential construction and sophisticated architectural projects.

The system combines functionality, safety, and design, offering an elegant alternative to traditional skylights—especially in spaces where natural light, aesthetics, and full use of floor space are equally important.

Accessibility has been tested in accordance with SIA 261 Cat. C3, DIN EN 1991-1-1, and DIN 18008-5:2013-7.

Best Quality

GLASSFLOOR® combines walkable glass architecture with high-quality materials, durable construction, and precise craftsmanship. The system is robust, rust-free, and vapor-tight, and is designed for long-term, safe use both indoors and outdoors.

To maximize the effect of natural light, Heliobus® uses extra-clear glass with high light transmission and color-neutral clarity. This allows natural light to enter the rooms below as unaltered as possible, while the glass surface maintains a high-quality, transparent appearance.

The outer and inner frames are made of stainless steel. This material ensures excellent dimensional stability, enhances the elegant design, and offers high resistance to natural weathering.

For exposed locations, such as those with salty sea air or increased exposure to salt from snow removal, the stainless steel grade can be upgraded from V2A to V4A. This allows GLASSFLOOR® to be customized to specific environmental conditions.

The glass surfaces are durable and designed to withstand foot traffic. As with any high-quality glass surface, however, we recommend careful maintenance and cleaning to preserve their transparency, light transmission, and aesthetic quality over the long term.

Attractive prices & short delivery times

With GLASSFLOOR®, Heliobus® offers high-quality walk-on floor glazing at attractive prices. The solution combines natural daylight, safe walkability, and elegant design in a durable system.

Our standard sizes are generally available on short notice and are ideal for projects that require a quick, attractive, and functional daylighting solution.

Heliobus® supplies GLASSFLOOR® worldwide. Upon request, we can also assist you with installation or coordinate the installation in collaboration with qualified local partners.

Quick and easy installation

GLASSFLOOR® offers architects, designers, and roofing and waterproofing specialists a well-designed, ready-to-install solution for walk-on skylights. The system is designed for easy integration into roof or floor structures and combines natural light, thermal insulation, and exterior waterproofing into a high-quality, all-in-one solution.

GLASSFLOOR® skylights are delivered as a pre-assembled, complete solution. Prefabricated metal brackets and pre-drilled holes in the outer frame make it easy to position the skylight using a construction crane and securely fasten it to the prepared mounting surface.

This allows for efficient planning and professional installation. On-site, the components simply need to be positioned according to the installation layout, screwed into place, and properly connected or sealed with foam in accordance with building codes.

GLASSFLOOR® thus supports precise, time-saving, and high-quality installation—especially for projects where natural light, walkability, thermal insulation, and waterproofing must work together reliably.

Insulating frame and skylight from a single source

Heliobus® offers a custom-made insulation frame with a height of 30 to 250 mm for every GLASSFLOOR ®. Together, GLASSFLOOR® and the insulation frame form a well-designed system solution for thermal insulation, connection details, and exterior waterproofing.

The insulation frame is custom-made for each project and can also be designed for sloped surfaces upon request. This allows the system to be precisely adapted to the structural requirements of the specific flat roof or terrace element.

The combination of an insulation frame and GLASSFLOOR® enables efficient installation and simplifies the proper exterior waterproofing of various types of flat roof systems. The result is a durable, thermally optimized, and architecturally sophisticated daylighting solution.
